Taking steps to enhance your life and achieve your dreams can seem daunting. Taking those steps while you’re already working full time as a mother can seem near impossible. You’ll need a community of support around you and mentors to teach you their tricks from experience.

Bridge to Wellbeing is helping women in Virginia find the resources and motivation they need to achieve their dreams, whether that’s going back to school, starting a business, getting more involved in their communities or making healthier lifestyle changes. A new series, Propel VA, helps women achieve their goals in their own way.

Last week, Propel VA focused on motherhood and entrepreneurship. Special guest Suzanne Burns shared her journey opening and managing a yoga studio, running all the day-to-day operations of a small business and still finding time to be the best mom she can be. Burns stressed that “we get to define what it means to have it all,” encouraging women in attendance that they can create their own goals and define what success looks like to them.

Trying, failing, and picking yourself back up again is all part of the experience. Burns reminded aspiring “mom + entrepreneurs” that “you never know what will end up propelling you forward.” She encouraged attendees to try and learn from what works and what doesn’t.
